This is quite definitely my favourite fiction podcast. I wasn't sure about the premise at first, but wow, it is done so well. I love the relationship between Arthur and John, the way they cycle through suspicion, tenderness, and just sheer frustration with each other. I am absolutely gripped by this and fascinated to see where the story goes

Can't stop listening

My absolute favorite podcast. I usually need to do something on the side while listening to podcasts, but with Malevolent I'm too captivated to even think about anything else. The voice acting, music and writing are all amazing. I also love all of the characters, even the ones I hate. Kinda wish I could give more than five stars.

Definitely has a very Lovecraftian feel to it. Would make a great ttrpg. And I'm sure your team of writers could come up with a great way to do it.

Utterly addicting

A Masterpiece

If it wasn't for the WTNV fandom I would never have found this, and that baffles me because this is one hell of a masterpiece! From its unique concept to its complex characters, I was hooked from the very beginning! The storytelling sweeps you off your feet and places you right there with Arthur, elbow to elbow, as he tries to navigate a world gone mad. And when I tell you you’ll be biting your nails down to the finger bone, I mean it. I urge everyone to give it a try.

After listening to Malevolent I now see Lovecraftian Horrors and hear voices in my head 10/10 would host a fractured demi-god. On a serious note though this is one of the best things I've had in my ear holes (1000% on par with TMA) The level of description and imagery painted by John are some of my favorite moments in the series. Now don't get me wrong there is action, horror and grief o'plenty and many, many other things to love about this wonderfully dark world, but hearing John describe his and Arthur's surroundings always feels so purposeful and never drawn out or obnoxious. It always leaves the me in awe at his ability to paint the scene so brilliantly while simultaneously leaving his listener plenty of freedom to fill in certain aspects with their own imagination. TLDR: Harlan is masterful in his ability to describe and draw the listener into his dark Malevolent world. For this reason alone I would recommend Malevolent to anyone with a love of storytelling, genres be damned, this podcast will scratch itches you never knew you had.

Must listen to

I absolutely love this series. I love the voices of all cast the cast. Sound effects are amazing. I’ve also listened to Malevolent and binged the series and will listen to it again because I love it so much. Definitely worth listening to!

my friend recommended me this podcast, and i'm so glad that they did!! it's currently one of my favorite things and i love it so much hbdbsndns it has emotionally killed me multiple times and made me almost start violently sobbing during class and that emotional rollercoaster during basically every episode is really fucking epic in general malevolent is a 10/10 and i will recommend it to everyone i talk to in the future and i'll also try my best to support the podcast as soon as i stop being a broke student!!! :)

Love it

Very well written and captivating. The voice work is excellent. The descriptions the characters give allow the listener to almost see what is happening.

It's such a well made story. It uses the medium of podcast well with the MC being blind and having to hear the description of everything to be able to move around. Additionally the relationship between the main cast is just wonderful. It delivers Lovecraftian horror well but the drama... the drama is what kept me hooked

I love this podcast so much. It is my favorite audio drama of all time. Never have I had so many emotions over characters. The mysteries are so fun to puzzle out as the story progresses. If you like mystery, lovecraftian monsters, psychological, thriller. These characters have such great emotional depth and complexity. They are so far from static and thats very refreshing.
